Blast! I'm ten pages from the end of the latest Harry Potter book. I bought it Saturday. stupid work. There should TOTALLY be book leave.
I did a similar thing when we went to Melbourne. I had 30 pages left of the second John Birmingham WW2.2 book. I stayed up until 1 am reading the night before we left before giving up. And on the way back, I bought the third book and was seventy pages in before I finished the second.

I am almost finished "Weapons of Choice" and I was up until 4am the other night hoping to finish it. I had to put it down when my eyes were closing involuntarily... And as for Potter, meh. Never been a Potter fan and quite frankly can't see what the fuss is about. I bet there will be heaps of people on public transport with their noses stuck in it.
I still love peoples reaction to when I read 'A gathering of spies' in public.
The cover is Nazi red, all the text is in that stereotypical nazi script and there's a huge swastika on the cover.
Then there's me reading intently, occaionally grinning at the funny parts..
Craig: I guess people should learn to think for themselves. Just because a guy's reading something with a Nazi theme, doesn't mean it's something to raise an eyebrow at.
Then again, maybe they can't be blamed for wanting to keep their distance once you start giggling at what you're reading...
Also, there is totally something called 'Book Leave'. I have it when customers are talking to me over the phone.
What? I assumed that if I was doing it when they were training us, I'd be OK when actually taking calls.
